About FFBRA

The Frack Free Balcombe Residents Association (FFBRA) was founded in September 2013 in response to the excessive noise from Cuadrilla’s original drilling. Since then we have made our voice heard through formal objections to planning and environmental permits, and have undertaken a judicial review of the planning process in the High Court in London.

FFBRA’s objective is to prevent oil and gas drilling in the parish of Balcombe, using whatever legal means are available. The village has voted on three occasions to reject any form of oil and gas drilling in the parish. It is important that we continue to show our resolve. If you are a Balcombe Resident and would like to join our friendly residents association you can join online and it is free.

On 27th October 2017, Cuadrilla submitted a new planning application to flow test the well drilled in the summer of 2013. They have been granted planning permission again, and have explicitly stated that if they find oil in recoverable quantities, they will immediately apply for further planning permission, to start producing oil.
